Navya Naveli Nanda speaks about gender equality in the Bachchan family, says she handles finances while Agastya prepares tea for guests

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, once spoke out against the sexism that was ingrained in their family. Back then, Navya shared that her mother, Shweta Bachchan, often asked her to host guests, while her brother Agastya Nanda could also assist them. Talking about the flexible gender roles in the Bachchan family, Navya Naveli Nanda said: “My mother raised me and my brother the same way.” Navya says how comfortable she is handling “family finances” and that Agastya Nanda is also adept at making and serving tea to her guests. “Funding and budgeting responsibilities are shared equally between us. I do what my brother does and he does what I do,” she added in an interview with Josh Talks. According to Navya, the equal environment in their family has increased, Agastya Nanda is now starting to earn get money.
