Arsenal defender ‘included’ in a €40 million deal for a Liverpool player, and Arteta’s team is ‘expected’ to complete a free transfer

According to reports, Juventus is still interested in signing Arsenal center-back Gabriel Magalhaes later this year.

For almost £27 million, the center-back moved to the Gunners in 2020 from French club Lille.

Over the previous couple of seasons, Gabriel has been an important player for Arsenal, and this year, he and William Saliba have created an outstanding relationship.

The latter’s contract expires in 2024, although Arsenal is seeking to sign him to a longer-term agreement.

They obviously want Saliba and Gabriel to continue to be their top center-back pairing for many years to come.

Juventus, who are rumoured to be interested in Gabriel, however, intends to thwart their schemes.

According to Calciomercato, the Serie A team has been “following the defender for some time.”

According to the report, Gabriel is valued at €40 million by Arsenal and Juventus intends to make a play for him next summer.

According to the article, providing Arthur Melo to Arsenal in exchange for Gabriel “may further cut the cost of the operation.”

Mikel Arteta ‘really likes’ the midfielder who currently finds himself on loan at Liverpool.

He was mentioned in connection with Arsenal during the winter transfer window of the previous year, but he ultimately stayed at Juventus until the summer.

Prior to the 2022–23 season, Liverpool hired him since they were short on midfield alternatives because Jordan Henderson and Thiago were both sidelined.

Arthur’s spell at Liverpool has been a bit of a disaster. He has been restricted to three appearances as he has been out of action for a couple of months due to a thigh injury.

He is under contract at Juventus until 2025 but he is likely to leave the club this year with him seemingly not figuring into Max Allegri’s plans.

Arsenal are known to be in the market for a centre-midfielder, but Arthur’s ill-fated spell at Liverpool may put them off.

They are said to be admirers of Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans and he is set to be available on a free transfer in the summer. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is also being linked with a move to the Emirates.

According to the Calciomercato report, Gabriel’s departure is expected to increase as Arsenal is’set to recruit’ Evan Ndicka from Eintracht Frankfurt.

This might cause a “domino effect” and raise Juventus’ prospects of landing Gabriel.

Ndicka’s contract is set to expire in June, and the Gunners have expressed interest in signing him on a free transfer.

According to a report from last month, Ndicka has already agreed to join Arsenal before the summer.
