According to Taran Adarsh, a cinema trade analyst, Pathaan has surpassed SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and the Yash-starring KGF 2 to become the fastest movie to cross the Rs 200 crore mark.
Pathaan, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, beat the record set by Yash’s KGF 2 (Hindi), which had a record-breaking opening day gross of Rs 53.95 crore. Pathaan brought in a total of Rs 57 crore nett on day one at the box office (Hindi: Rs 55 crore and dubbed versions Rs 2 crore). On day 2, the movie made over Rs 68 crores. On day 3, it made a net profit of Rs 38 crore.
Pathaan is part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and has the biggest superstars of the country Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in it. Apart from them, Salman Khan also has a cameo appearance in the film. Pathaan is also the latest addition to Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. The other films in this genre are Tiger Zinda Hai and War.
