Apple launches new Pride band, watch face for Apple Watch

Over the past few years, Apple has released special bands and watch faces as part of the Pride collection. 2023 is no different from Apple announcing special watch faces and bands. Apple says the design of the new Sport Band is “inspired by the strength and beauty of the LGBTQ+ community”.

Brand new Pride Band

According to Apple, the new Pride Group design features the Pride flag’s original rainbow colors and five other colors – black and brown representing black and Latino communities, in addition to those who have died or are living with HIV/ AIDS. There are also light blue, pink and white shades that represent transgender and non-binary people.

“This year’s design incorporates a fun rainbow of geometric shapes on a white background, molded into the final strip,” Apple said in a Newsroom post. Also included are new Pride Celebration watch faces and iOS wallpapers for iPhone. Apple says the watch faces and wallpapers celebrate the synergy and mutual support of the LGBTQ+ community. Colored shapes appear to flow into the watch display from the band and respond when the user lifts and moves their wrist or taps the screen. The wallpaper is an expression of this year’s Pride design and fluid motion when users unlock their iPhone.

The Pride Edition Sports Band will be available to order on Apple’s online store on May 23 and will be available in the Apple Store from May 24 for Rs 4,500. The Pride Edition sports band is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes and is compatible with Apple Watch Series 3 and later. New Pride Celebration watch faces and iPhone wallpapers will be available next week and require watchOS 9.5 and iOS 16.5.
