After the Nexus, Pixel C, and Slate tablets, Google took another step into the Android big screen with its first Pixel-branded tablet called the Pixel Tablet, of course. The new Pixel tablet is different from other devices before, and the difference is that the Pixel tablet can also turn into a Nest smart display with the tablet charging dock, which acts as a stand and also comes with with an integrated instructor.
Pixel Tablets: Specifications and Features
The Pixel tablet has a 10.95-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio with 2560×1600 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. This tablet has an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field of view. The display also has an anti-smudge coating as well as Gorilla Glass 3 protection with USI 2.0 stylus support. The Pixel tablet also comes with an 8MP sensor on the back.
To make it comfortable to hold, Google designed the entire tablet in an aluminum case with a nano ceramic coating.
The tablet also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader along with a power button. For entertainment, the tablet comes with a four-speaker and three-microphone setup. Along with these, the tablet also comes with built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant. Google has also provided a tablet-specific user interface to better optimize both tablet and smart display use cases.
The tablet is powered by the same Tensor G2 chipset, and Google says it works with YouTube, Spotify, Disney+, and more. – they look better and are easier to navigate on larger screens. The tablet comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Connectivity options include support for Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 5, and UWB.
Google also announced the Pixel Tablet Charging Dock that serves as a charging dock, speaker, and smart display. Google claims the tablet lasts 12 hours on a single charge using a 27Wh battery.
