New Delhi: The two-time champion would like to raise the famous IPL trophy a third time and join the select club with Mumbai and Chennai. Shreyas Iyer, the normal captain of the Kolkata-based team, would miss the first half of the next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season.
In Iyer’s absence, the team would be captained by star batter Nitish Rana. Kolkata came in eighth place last year and came in second place in 2021. They were unable to balance their starting 11, and as a result, they were disqualified from the playoffs. This time around, they have solid sets of players as well, so it will be interesting to see if they can field a balanced and potent playing 11.
