This gaming laptop with an RTX 3050 is $350 off in Dell’s clearance sale

We were pleased to see the release of the Dell G16 last year because the G15 family of laptops served as the industry standard for a sizable amount of time. With only a few exceptions, it repeats a lot of the wonderful qualities of the previous generation and improves them all. Fortunately, the G16 is currently discounted on the Dell website from $1,250 to $900 if you’re looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop.

The benefits of purchasing the Dell G16 Gaming Laptop

The G16 is distinguished by its 16-inch screen, which forgoes the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio in favour of the far better 16:10, giving you much more screen room to work with when gaming. Even better, it features a QHD+ resolution and a maximum framerate of 165Hz, which are uncommon for low-cost gaming laptops. The screen is excellent, but the included RTX 3050 Ti graphics card may have some trouble reaching that resolution at a fast refresh rate. However, if you choose some of the more well-known free-to-play titles, such as Apex Legend, Rocket League, or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you should be able to hit that refresh rate without too much difficulty, even if you have to turn down the settings a bit.

You also receive the Intel Core i7-12700H, a mid-to-high tier CPU that is far more powerful than the GPU, preventing CPU bottlenecks, in addition to the RTX 3050 Ti. Additionally, it means that you won’t have much trouble playing any CPU-intensive games, such as simulation games, while also performing all of your desired editing and productivity tasks. Fortunately, you also get 512GB of SSD storage, which is a bit on the smaller side for a contemporary gaming laptop, and 16GB of the fastest RAM on the market, DDR5, so it might be worthwhile to take advantage of one of these external hard drive deals.

Overall, the G16 is still a great gaming laptop, even though we would have preferred to see a GPU slightly more potent than the RTX 3060 on it. This is especially true now that Dell is offering a deal that reduces the price to $900. Of course, if you’d like a few more choices, have a look at these other fantastic gaming laptop bargains.
